McCullum Commits to Portage College
We are pleased to announce defender Jett McCullum has accepted an athletic scholarship to play Canadian University hockey with Portage College in the ACAC!
The 2004 native of Moncton, NB came to Vernal in a trade from the Ventura Vikings just prior to the USPHL roster freeze, and has recorded an impressive 92 points in 47 games at the Premier level after spending the entirety of his career prior to this season at the tier II level in Canada.
"Although Jett's stint in Vernal has been short, he has left an extremely positive impression on our staff and the Vernal community," said GM David Imonti. "Jett has professional hockey ambitions, and we feel the move to Portage, playing for a former four-time Stanley Cup Champion and coach-of-the-year at the pro level in Kevin McClelland, will help make those dreams a reality."
Congratulations to Jett and the McCullum family, and special shoutout to the Ventura Vikings for their role in Jett's progression this season.
