GENNELLO HIRED AS ASSISTANT COACH
The Vernal Oilers are pleased to announce the addition of Mike Gennello as an assistant coach for the 2022-23 United States Premier Hockey League season!
Gennello, 25, is from East Windsor New Jersey. Parents Dom and Dodi have 4 sons, Ari, Mike, Jared and Ezra, who works as the director of broadcast operations for the Northeast Generals of the North American Hockey League. Mikes playing career started with the Mercer Chiefs organization in Hamilton, New Jersey where he played AAA youth hockey. Mike later played prep school hockey at Hebron Academy in Maine, before spending two years years playing junior hockey in both the EHL and USPHL.
Mike continued his education at Framingham State University in Massachusetts where he graduated with a BA in Communications in addition to competing at the NCAA DIII level for the Men's hockey team. Following Framingham, Mike was given the opportunity to continue his playing career professionally in Finland with Muik Hockey of the Soumi-Sarja. Mike now takes his wealth of experience and knowledge for the game of hockey to Vernal where he hopes to help oilers players hone and develop the skills needed to advance in their hockey careers.
